Gelato the Speedy way...

Have you been toying with the idea of making your own ice cream?

Does the idea of spending a large sum of money on a thought or dream scare you?

Fear not! There’s many different ways of making ice cream and it doesn’t have to cost the earth!Frigomat Banner

The dream of opening your own ice cream parlour is one shared by many but the unfortunate reality is life doesn’t always make it feasible. The cost of rent, equipment costs, staff, power etc etc. the list is potentially endless. Taylor UK may have a speedy solution for you if you’re looking to add ice cream production to your operation.

In a perfect world you would have a complete kitchen or laboratory (as the Italians like to call it) dedicated to the production of ice creams and gelato. Equipment would include a pasteuriser, a batch freezer, a blast freezer, storage refrigerators and freezers, display cabinets and serving counters. To make truly artisan homemade ice cream then yes, you will probably need CH03 C118 Ice Creammost of this equipment but if you are just looking a way to simply and easily add homemade ice cream to your business there is an easier way…

To make ice cream from scratch; milk, cream, sugar etc. then you will require a pasteuriser and some time to make your own base mix. There are a number of products on the market which take this step out of the equation:

UHT Base Mix – This is the perfect way of making your own ice cream, flavoured exactly as you like it without the time consuming process of pasteurising your own. Simply pour the carton into a suitable jug or pail, add the flavour compound which you wish to make, mix it together and then freeze it in your batch freezer. In about 10 minutes you can go from individual ingredients to finished ice cream – How much simpler could it be!

Powdered ‘All-In-One’ Products – This is the simplest way to make ice cream! Take one bag, dissolve the contents in 3 litres of milk (or water depending on the flavour), and leave it to stand for 10 minutes then pour it in to a batch freezer. No mixing, minimal measuring – maximum profit.

Speedy OptionThese styles of product are a great way to get into the ice cream business without committing to huge equipment costs straight away; all you need is a small batch freezer, a display cabinet and a storage freezer.

People use these methods as ‘stepping stones’ in the process of building their businesses. Once you’re up and running, you can easily add a pasteuriser to your operation and make your own base mix once you’ve found your feet!

At Taylor UK, we truly believe that there is no right or wrong way of making ice cream or gelato. There’s a method and equipment suitable for all types of business and we will have the right solution for you.
