A little history about the Hy Hylan Lifetime Achievement in Service award…
The Hy Hylan Lifetime Achievement Award is presented to those who have selflessly, consistently, and generously made impactful contributions to the Taylor Service Network over at least a quarter of a century. These individuals exemplify the attributes of a service leader and have held positions of leadership for our network, either by title or by perpetual behavior. They have helped others grow, set an example of excellence, and have contributed to process, product, or protocol. Above all, the individuals have provided out customers with genuine, unparalleled service.
Criteria for nomination include:
Credible evidence of continuous Taylor service brand contributions and modeling behavior noted in the preceding paragraph.
An individual who has celebrated at least 30 years of service with a Taylor Distributor or will retire from Taylor service within the calendar year of nomination or has retired within three years of nomination. Additionally, deceased individuals may be nominated within three years of their death, with the award being presented posthumously to the recipient’s family and co-workers.
Nominees must have worked in the Taylor Service Network (including management, field service, administration, training, dispatching, shop service, parts, or warranty) for 25 years or longer.
Recognized by their peers and factory personnel as the epitome of servant leadership.
Additionally, nominees must have held a position of titular or understood leadership, which includes Sr. Technician, Trainer, or other positions of influence.
Distributor Service Personnel, Principals, Sales Managers, or Factory Service Personnel and Leadership may nominate a candidate.
This award, originally called “The Lifetime Achievement in Service Award,” was renamed “The Hy Hylan Lifetime Achievement Award” after our longest tenured Service Technician, Hy Hyland, Taylor of New England, who served Taylor for over 67 years, until his death at age 99. Hy exemplified everything expected of the award recipient.
