Frederick’s has been an ice cream making institution going right back to the 30’s when it was founded in 1936. The Chorley shop still stands in it’s original location on Bolton Road, which is also the location of Frederick’s Ice Creams manufacturing factory. With additional shops located on Cuncliffe Street in Chorley and Mesnes Park in Wigan, Frederick’s rightfully has the North West cornered when it comes to ice cream!

Frederick’s have always used ISA refrigerated displays and now, after over 13 years of reliable service, the current owner; Louis Federici, decided that the the shop needed freshening up and required a bit of a face lift! This also gave them the opportunity to extend their offer, giving customers more choice.
Louis contacted David Lewis at Taylor UK, ISA’s nominated distributor in the UK for custom refrigerated projects, to discuss the shop layout and what options they had. David visited the site with Louis to walk through the options, the unique size and shape of the store restricted things a little but with developments in technology and design they settled on a layout which fitted in the footprint of the original cabinets but gave them greater display capacity and would allow them to increase their flavour offering from 40 flavours to 48 moving forward.
Taylor UK had two 24 flavour custom ice cream cabinets fabricated along with a matching chilled pastry display, ideal for cream cakes, and a matching ambient display case for biscuits and cakes which don’t need to refrigerated. All of the cabinets were fitted with external condensers installed on the roof, meaning that the shop didn’t get ridiculously hot, ensuring that both products and customers have a nice environment to exist in.
David organised the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of the new cabinets ensuring that they were fitted quickly and professionally making sure that they’ll last another 13 years or more…
