Twelve years isn’t too bad…

Frenchgate Cafe is one of Doncaster’s best loved cafes, located right in the centre of town, so you can always expect it to be busy.

Ever since the first day that they opened their doors the owner, Toni Demir said: “Our goal is to bring total satisfaction to all our customers through our experience and commitment to ensure our menu is exciting and adventurous by creating the highest quality meals and drinks which we can”.

Back in 2004, Toni wanted to add something unique to the Frenchgate café offer that their customers wouldn’t be able to recreate at home. Their instant thought was ice cream and in particular a soft serve ice cream product which could be used for many different menu items; from exciting desserts and sundaes to simple ice creams cones and blended thick shakes for the take away customers. It was a no-brainer! They bought a Taylor soft serve machine.

Twelve years on… It’s now in 2016 and their trusty Taylor soft serve machine which has served countless ice cream cones and sundaes, has come to the end of it’s useful working life. Sadly nothing lasts for ever and an upgrade was needed after a long, hard and profitable life.

After years of faithful service with their old machine, the obvious choice was to contact Taylor UK again to discuss the new options available.

Paul Richards, Taylor UK’s Area Sales Manager arranged to visit Toni at the Frenchgate Café to consult on all of the options which they have available, there’s been quite a few developments over the past decade so they had plenty to talk about.

Soft Ice Cream Cones

Toni commented; “We felt at ease with Paul, his knowledge was extensive and he clearly knew what he was talking about. Seeing that a high number of the major high street restaurant chains use Taylor machines gave me confidence, I wanted a soft serve machine that would be good to look at, very practical, easy to use, reliable and with best after sales support possible”.

Toni added; “We expect to be very busy in the months and years to come. So it was a no brainer to purchase another Taylor machine”.

Toni chose a Taylor 152 soft serve machine, it’s small footprint and counter top design made it perfect for the Frenchgate Café allowing them to offer great menu items without sacrificing too much space.

The 152 was installed and full training was provided to all staff on site by one of Taylor UK’s 34 engineers, who went through the full process of assembling the machine, sanitising, serving and then ultimately cleaning.

Toni continued; “The soft serve machine is vital to the operation of the business. It was key we that made the right decision. The Taylor soft serve machine has not let us down. The machine can easily cope with our highest demands and it’s simplicity has cut the time our staff spend cleaning”.

“We have since been able to grow the business by adding a whole new range of desserts, ice creams and shakes” Toni concluded.

The Frenchgate Café serves everything from traditional English breakfasts, to lunchtime sandwiches, jacket potatoes and burgers. The addition of soft serve ice cream compliments their offer perfectly!
