Customer Story - Brownie Box

Brownie Box open shop number two and choose ISA cabinets to showcase their homemade brownies & cakes…

Alex Markou, is the owner of Brownie Box, a successful family run coffee shop on the Old Brompton Road in London, specialising in brownie’s, cupcakes, muffins, pastries, bagels, croissants, birthday and wedding cakes amongst other things which are all made daily on their premises and served with a wide range of freshly brewed Barista Coffees.

Toward the end of 2017, the opportunity arose at the much sort after Putney Exchange Shopping Centre, to open a smaller version of their current shop, specialising in brownies, cakes and coffee to eat in or to take away. Having purchased equipment previously from Taylor UK, Alex contacted us again to arrange a free consultation with our ISA Project Department. Alex wanted to discuss the display cabinet options he had available to him to develop his ideas for the new Brownie Box new shop.

Due to the unique layout of the shop, a little care was needed to carefully plan out the space to make sure that every available inch of usable space was utilised. David Lewis, Taylor UK’s ISA Expert met with Alex at the new shop site to accurately measure up to ensure that the maximum display area could be achieved in the space available.

Kelly P80 Patisserie

After his initial consultation with David, Alex and his Business partners settled on the Kelly range of ISA cabinets. The compact design and straight glass display of the Kelly range gave Alex the sleek modern look he was looking for with optimal display for all the cakes and brownies he has on offer.

To compliment the straight glass design of the Kelly displays, Alex also opted for a ISA Cristal Tower upright display fridge to showcase the wide range of birthday and wedding cakes which they have available to take home, the Cristal Tower cabinet allows Alex to display products on five fully refrigerated shelves, whilst only taking up a very small footprint. The cabinet is fitted with LED lights around the inside walls of the cabinet creating a ‘jewel case’ for the cakes, showing them off in the best possible light making them as appealing as possible.

Also included in the design was a rear under counter fridge with integrated sink and the all-important coffee counter with space for the barista coffee machine, complete with integrated knock out draw.

Using information provided by Alex’s interior designer who was planning the colour scheme for the whole shop, David was able to specify the correct RAL colours with the factory to make sure that the front counter decorative front panels were colour coded correctly, so they would match the colour scheme being introduced in the rest of the shop.

The ISA cabinets and displays were delivered and installed mid-December 2017. Brownie Box 2 opened their doors to customers in early January 2018.
