The New Joker – The Right Fit!
According to the KI Awards program, the JOKER is defining the gold standard of foodservice equipment innovations. The honorees are recognized as the year’s most forward-thinking and cutting-edge innovations that have meaningfully improved foodservice operations. The KI Award recipients are selected by an independent panel of judges comprised of industry leaders and internationally-recognized food facility consultants, multi-unit executives, and design experts.

As early as 1998, Eloma proved its pioneering spirit and courage when their JOKER was the first compact combi steamer to be introduced successfully to the global market. Since then, the Bavarian company has continuously developed this competence and has transferred tradition to the modern age with the launch of the new JOKER in 2020.
The width of only 52 cm, and Eloma’s core values reliability, quality and user-friendliness are obviously the pillar stones also of the new compact class. These however have been complemented by modularity, capacity, flexibility and design – as the four main highlights of the new JOKER. Meaning, Eloma does not provide the customer with a standard but offers modular options and individual solutions in the configuration. The customer decides what is needed, as one size does not fit all.
Winner – iF Design Award 2021
The new JOKER convinced the 98-member jury, made up of independent experts from all over the world, with its innovative modular concept adapting to the individual needs of the user, as well as with its contemporary design. The competition was intense: almost 10,000 entries were submitted from 52 countries in hopes of receiving the seal of quality.
Eloma’s Managing Director Mark Joseph Müller says: “Exactly three years ago we started the project “The new JOKER” with neuroscientific user analyzes in order to use objective methods to determine how we can make everyday work in the professional kitchen even more efficient. Today, after many months of hard and passionate work, we not only experience great feedback and demand from our partners and customers, but also receive further appreciation in the form of this award. Winner – Best Cooking / Cooking Technology
The jury selected a total of 44 outstanding gastronomic interior design concepts. In addition to the gastronomy makers, this competition also honors the manufacturers, without whose the ideas and skills of the companies would not have become the highlights that they are. The competition partners are the Callwey publisher, bdia Association of German Interior Architects, German hotel and restaurant association e. V. (DEHOGA Federation), INTERNORGA, AMERON Hotel and Restaurant and the newspaper/magazine AHGZ, B-EAT und Baumeister (master-builder). The jury consisted partly of these partners, supported by other experts from gastronomy and the press.
